REVIEW: CoverGirl's Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation (in Ivory)

Hello beautiful! Again, sorry it's been a week or so since we last saw each other but the internet was yet again acting wacky. It's sorted now.

Onto the review! I've been using this foundation for roughly three weeks now. This is also the first foundation I have ever bought/used so I cannot truly compare it to any other foundations, but I can try to go off what I've read and watched on YouTube.

It's the CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation! Everyone has RAVED about this product and I did extensive research to find the perfect first foundation for me. I found it! I really do like this foundation.

I'm very pale and I'm very pleased to find they make a shade light enough for me! I went to Target and at my local store(s) there are lovely ladies who will help color match you if needed and that's just what I did.

Claims:
"Lasting power of a primer, coverage of a concealer, and blendability of a foundation in one. Shine free."
Primer: YES (this lasts on me atleast for 12 hours with no fading)
Concealer: EH (I have dark circles under my eyes and while it covers them a little, it doesn't cover them enough to forgo concealer)
Blendability: YES (this blends smoothly and evenly with both my fingers and my e.l.f. powder brush although I prefer the brush)
Shine Free: YES (this sets to a matte finish, there is absolutely no shine to it even 10 hours after I've first applied the foundation and that's with me being an very oily skin type)

Color Range:
14 shades (roughly good selection for light to medium skin tones, but they do have this foundation in 14 more shades in the queen collection for darker skin tones)

Consistency:
Liquid: it's nice and creamy and blends easily/flawlessly on the skin.
Works excellent for oily skin as it mattifies the skin.
Clings to dry patches and looks flaky if you don't moisturize.
Can oxidize (turn darker) a little bit on certain skins.

Coverage:
I'd say, for my skin, it's a medium coverage as I have a few blemishes.

Overall Rating:
9/10

As you can see, with just one pump the foundation it covers my blemishes well enough to cover any major redness or discoloration. (I always have my bangs down over my forehead so it doesn't bother me that you can still see the blemishes a bit.) It also covers the large pores around and on my nose very well.

after (with finished makeup)

With the foundation, my blush lasts all day and doesn't fade/barely fades

REVIEW + SWATCHES: Kate Moss Lipsticks by Rimmel London

Hello beautiful! I'll be doing a little review and showing some swatches today!

Brand: Kate Moss by Rimmel London
Product: Lipstick
Color: 05, 01, and 12
Price: Roughly between $4.50 and $6 depending on where you go

The packaging is simple enough, but there is a sophistication and uniqueness to it that I really enjoy. The lid top has a slant to it, so if you store your lipsticks upside down to see the color you're going to have trouble with the packaging.

The product itself is creamy, yet not too slick and shows up true to color on the lips. What you see in the tube is what you're going to get.

One of my absolute favorite things about this lipstick is the smell of them. If you are very sensitive to smells and prefer products to not have a scent, this may not be a product for you. They have a sweet, cinnamon-y, floral scent that is wonderful and I am doing no justice to it. Go to your nearest store that sells this Kate Moss lipstick and give it a sniff yourself to know what I'm talking about!
_______

Color 05 is a nice, neutral pink that I think would work on most, if not all, skin types.

Color 05 in Sunlight

_______

Color 12 is an orange. An orange-based reddish pink coral. In some lights, it looks pink; in other lights, a true orange.

Color 12 in Sunlight

_______

Color 01 is a red. Blue-based yet neutral, this color is beautiful. If you're looking for a true red, this is a very good choice.

Overall, I am in love with these lipsticks and will continue to buy more. For the price, you can't go wrong!

REVIEW: Nyx's Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk

Hello beautiful! I decided to do a little review for you on the Nyx's Jumbo Eye Pencil in the color Milk.

Brand: Nyx
Product: Jumbo Eye Pencil
Color: Milk
Price: $4.50

I love this product! It's so versatile - use it as an inner corner highlight, on your waterline to widen your eyes, as an eyeshadow base, or even as an eyeshadow alone. I've even heard of using it as a concealer! (Haven't tried it out on myself yet so I can't deny nor rave on that.) Personally, I use it as an inner corner highlight and as an eyeshadow alone to bring brightness to my eyes and make me look awake.

Swatches
Left: Blended
Right: One to Two Strokes

As you can see the  product is very pigmented. It glides on smoothly and blends out seamlessly with just the finger. But as my eyelids are oily and hooded, this creases on me after a while.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this product to either the beginner or expert professional as it is highly versatile and easy to use!

Review: Maybelline's Full + Soft Mascara

Hello beautiful! Today I'm going to review a mascara I just bought over the weekend - and that I LOVE!

Brand: Maybelline
Product: Mascara
Color: Very Black
Price: $5.59 at my local Ulta

The brush is full, even, and sturdy - my three favorite things in a mascara brush. The end tip is slightly pointed as to give ease to application.

The smell of the mascara is a typical mascara smell, and not too strong.

The mascara claims to give soft, thick lashes with a healthy look. Let's see how that holds up:

My eyelashes before application

My lashes are fairly long without mascara,

Lashes with Maybelline Full + Soft Mascara

and with this mascara they're lengthened and volumized with a natural look. They have an ease ness and softness to them which is exactly what I was looking for. If you're looking for a clumpy, almost-falsies-look, then this probably isn't the mascara for you.

Thumbs up:
• lengthens, volumizes
• natural look
• doesn't clump

Thumbs down:
Can't think of any!

I'd HIGHLY recommend anyone giving this a try. Even if you're looking for the falsies look, maybe you'll try this and fall in love! And with the price, why not?!

Review: Wet n Wild's Megalast Liquid Lip Color

Hello beautiful! Today's review will be on Wet n Wild's Megalast Liquid Lip Color.

Brand: Wet n Wild
Product: Liquid Lip Color
Color: Cherry on Top
Price: $2.99

The applicator is not doe-shaped and is very flexible, which for me makes application difficult. It also tends to leave too much product on the brush which leads to the lip color being gooey on the lips.

This product also has a very chemical-like plastic smell so if that's not your thing, stay clear.

Swatch of Cherry on Top

Swatch of Cherry on Top after being wiped off

As you can see, it left a stain on my arm (that lasted all day).

Cherry on Top in the sunlight

Application is difficult. It can lead to an uneven look on both the outline of your lips and with the lip color itself, where it looks thin some areas and gooey other areas.

You have to be very careful when putting this lip color on, yet you have to be fast enough as to not goop up the product on your lips either.

To let this dry, you should to keep your lips separated for at least ten to twenty minutes. Or else the product goops up.

And when I say this product is long-lasting on the lips, it is LONG-lasting. And it's super difficult to take off your lips; the process is painful and drying to your lips.

Thumbs up:
• long-lasting (ALL day wear)
• great color pay-off
• no transfer

Thumbs down:
• SUPER difficult to take off
• very drying
• takes a while to dry
• can get gooey

Overall, this is not for everyone. If you're okay with your lips feeling dry, don't mind taking your time to really perfect your lips, and don't mind it going goopy on you for the pay-off of an extremely long-wear, then this might be a good product for you for the price.

Review: Profusion's Mascara

Hello beautiful! I'm going to review Profusion's Mascara!

Walgreens had this mascara on sale for $2 so I figured, why not try it?! This was definitely not the only mascara they had, but I like myself a good bargain and I also like makeup so wham-o there's a great deal! Plus, it's cruelty-free!

(I've looked and cannot find the regular price. Sorry.)

The wand is huge and fluffy-like; its bristles are evenly spread out. This alludes to big, voluminous lashes that are separated.

The mascara states that it gives you both length and volume and is long-lasting. So let's see how that holds up:

Here's just my normal eyelashes, which, to make this review fair, I have to say have been blessed to be relatively long. Do with that what you will.

Normal eyelashes.

One coat.

Two coats.

I applied one coat and the effect was lovely. I didn't know what I was expecting with this brand since I've never used it and barely heard of it before, but I'm impressed.

Thumbs up:
• it's cruelty-free
• it's true to its claims
   – volumizes
   – lengthens
   – long-lasting

Thumbs down:
• does not seem to come in a waterproof version

Overall - I really like this mascara. It isn't my holy grail mascara as I haven't really found one (yet).
